(3) Teaching Process
Step 1 Warm-up and lead-in
The teacher shows some pictures about tourist attractions, and then asks students:Where have you been? And where do you want to go? Then there is
a free talk.
(Justification: This step can stimulate students' interest in learning and introduce the topic through showing pictures of tourist attractions. )
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask students to pay attention to these pictures in this textbook and guess what Mike and Liu Tao talked about.
(Justification:This step leads students to predict the passage, and stimulate their interest. )
Step 3 While-reading
①Ask students to read the passage quickly, and check their predictions.
②Ask students to read the passage carefully, think about the following questions and fill in the chart:
Where did Mike and Liu Tan go? And what did they do?
③Ask students to find out past tense of verbs andwrite down their original form. Ask some students toshow their answers and give evaluation. Summarizethe usage of past tense for students and show moreverbs and the past form.
