M: Hi. You have been working in the admissions office for years, haven't you?
W: Yes, I have been working here for more than ten years as the assistant director.
M: Wow,more than ten years! What does that involve?
W : Well, (5) I am in charge of all the admissions of undergraduate students in the university.
M: Only undergraduates?
W: Yes, only undergraduates. Admission of postgraduates has nothing to do with me at all.
M: In your work, have you met some sort of different national groups? I mean students from other countries, such as Latin" America or others.
W: Yeah, of course.That’ s very common. (6) Of all the students enrolled last year, almost half were from overseas.They were from many different places-Africa, the Far East, the Middle East, and Latin America.
M: You have been in the post for more than ten years. Have you done other things?
W: (7) Before I came here  I worked as a secretary of a technical school in Seattle, and further back, I worked in the  local government.
M: Oh, you are really a rich-experienced person.
W: I can only say I have done different types of things.
M: Yes, I think so. You can also learn much from the experiences. How do you imagine your job might develop in the  future? Can you imagine shifting into a different kind of responsibility or doing something else?
W: Yes, from next month, (8) I will be doing an entirely different job. In the future job, I will spend less time dealing with students. More policy work will take up most of my time. I think I will miss my contact with students.
