People in favor of independent recruiting of universities maintain that it's a win-win approach for both sides. On the one hand, the renowned universities can recruit top students from high schools. On the other hand, those students who
excel in one particular field may have a chance to leap over the barrier of the college entrance exam. On the contrary, those who oppose this approach argue that it may worsen the current educational unfairness. The absence of a third party's supervision may cause this well-intended notion to fall victim to the abuse of power.
As far as I'm concerned, it's too early for China to adopt this advanced method. In my opinion, only when the overall education system is established and perfected can independent recruiting of universities be put into practice in China.
