茶，这一美妙的饮品(beverage)原产于中国。四千多年前，中国人就开始饮茶了。唐代时，日本的僧人(monk)从中国引入茶种，与禅宗思想(Zen Buddhism)相结合，形成了闻名世界的日本茶道。17世纪时，荷兰人将中国人饮茶的习惯带到欧洲，进而形成了欧洲人喝茶的传统。在茶叶的故乡----中国，饮茶是一种普遍的习惯。几千年来，茶一直是中国人最喜爱的饮品。在西方，很多重要的事情是在咖啡馆中发生的，而在中国，很多重要的事情是在茶馆中发生的。
